At Fly Water Expeditions we strive to give you the best fly and light tackle fishing experience South Florida has to offer.

We have spent thousands of hours perfecting our craft, navigating the the endless bays, shorelines and mangrove islands that the Florida keys, Biscayne Bay and Everglades has to offer. Our guides are all USCG licensed, they all fish from top of the line technical poling skiffs and are well experienced. We all work hard for our anglers to give them the best opportunity to succeed out on the water. Along with having a great time, we strive to create long lasting friendships with everyone who steps foot on the bow of our boats.

Captain Greg Dini

I was born in Orlando, Florida and began fishing at a very young age. I graduated to the saltwater environment at the age of 10, when our family bought a condo on the east coast of Florida. I mastered my home waters of Mosquito Lagoon while in high school and made trips down to the Florida Keys on a regular basis. I was fortunate enough to play sports as a young man and received a scholarship to play division one baseball at the University of Miami. This is where my addiction began as I got hooked on the three biggest saltwater flats species (Tarpon, Bonefish, Permit). Going to class was extremely hard when you live in an area that has incredible fishing opportunities, as South Florida did. Racing down to fish in Islamorada on an off day from classes was a regular occurrence. I quickly realized what I had in my backyard… some of the best flats fishing fisheries in the world!! The Florida keys, Biscayne bay, and Everglades were all wishing a short drive and I took advantage of these opportunities.

I invite you to come share in my addiction and look forward to spending some time with you on the bow of my skiff!!

Capt. Greg Dini

Captain Mike Alfano

Capt. Mike Alfano is one of the most reputable and sought-after flats guides in the Islamorada region. He specializes in fly fishing and light tackle for tarpon, permit, redfish, snook, and bonefish.  Mike began his professional guiding career in 2017, but his passion for fly fishing was sparked long before that. Mike lives in Islamorada full-time and has been a student of the fishery for 20+ years. He’s a regular in the local tarpon tournaments with several podium finishes and considered to be a top contender each year. He sits on the board of the Florida Keys Fishing Guide Association and is an active member of Captains for Clean Water. Mike is a father of two children, a phenomenal fishing guide, a stand-up guy, and an advocate for local conservation initiatives.

Captain Luis Cortes

Luis is a Florida Keys fishing captain specializing in Light Tackle & Fly FIshing for Tarpon, Bonefish, Permit, Snook, Redfish, and many other inshore gamefish.

Luis is the son of a South Florida offshore fishing guide which naturally led him into a guiding career. His passion for fishing started as soon as he was able to hold a fishing rod. Luis grew up in Miami fishing offshore and would travel with his family to the Florida Keys almost every weekend to where he now resides in Islamorada.

“The first time my father took me sight fishing as a young child I was hooked to say the least”. Luis couldn’t get enough of the hunting aspect of sight fishing and still to this day it’s his favorite way of catching fish.

“I will always remember the day my dad bought me my first fly rod, we spent hours in the yard practicing our casting and we would fish the local canal systems catching peacock and largemouth bass with the occasional snook and tarpon.

I am forever grateful with what he taught me as a child, showing me the many different aspects of what South Florida has to offer”.

As a fishing guide Luis enjoys watching his clients pull on a fish they only dreamt of catching. “I love what I do for a living and know how important it is to show my clients the best possible time on the water whether it be a fly angler getting as many shots as possible at stringing tarpon or a kid having his rod bent all day”.

Captain Jared Raskob

He’s led anglers to more tournament victories than any guide his age. Other guides will tell you he has a “sixth sense” for finding hungry fish. (Guiding over 300 days a year might have something to do with that.) At the age of seven, Jared’s parents gave him his first skiff whereupon he immediately began exploring the local waters. And now, twenty-some years later, Jared is host and co-owner of Silver Kings.

Jared first picked up a fly rod at the age of thirteen and spent his adolescence fine-tuning his craft. Upon turning nineteen, Jared became a licensed guide. And he’s never looked back. His career and reputation have been established by winning many highly competitive tournaments and through the positive accolades he has received from clients and friends alike. His proudest professional achievement was winning the 2015 Gold Cup Tarpon Tournament. Through his knowledge and dedication to the sport, Jared hopes to create the same thrill that he experiences daily for each and every angler that ever watches the show, or steps onto his boat.

Captain Brian Esposito

Brian is a South Florida native. He grew up fishing both fresh and salt water from Stuart to Key West, up the east coast of Florida and out west to Chokoloskee. Most days he’s fishing Everglades National Park or Biscayne Bay. Brian excels fishing with both fly and spin anglers of all abilities.

Brian spends a good portion of his time fishing the no motor zones of everglades national park and other deep backcountry areas where you seldom see people.

Brian runs two different skiffs, a Hells bay Biscayne and a Spear boatworks Everglades. The Biscayne has a great ride and excels at fishing tarpon and making rough runs while the Everglades skiff can get into all the secret corners of the backcountry.
