Fall Fishing in South Florida can be some of the best fishing of the year. As air and water temps drop after the warm summer months, the fish start to get frisky! Both inshore and offshore species start to go on the feed in the fall which can make for some exciting action.

Blue water species like sail fish, mahi mahi and many snapper species start to move shallow to take advantage of the abundance of bait that inhabits the reef this time of year. The shallow water species including Tarpon, bonefish, Permit, snook and red fish move deeper into the back country of Florida Bay, Biscayne Bay and Miami waterways.

This time of year can be a fly and light tackle anglers dream with so many species to choose from. If you want to target tailing bonefish, permit or red fish you can. If you want to pitch bats to sailfish on the edge, mutton snapper on the reef or tarpon in the back country, you have plentiful opportunities to do it all.
